Leadership Change at La Saleta Care: José María Campo Takes Over

La Saleta Care, a group specializing in care for dependent individuals, has restructured its executive leadership with the departure of Fernando Ruiz Castillo as CEO. The position is now assumed by José María Campo, according to company sources. La Saleta, founded in 1997 by Ruiz Castillo himself and Ana María García Rubio (currently general director), has been part of the Belgian group Armonea since 2016.

Initially focused on the Valencia region, the company has since expanded to other areas such as Castilla y León, Asturias, and the Basque Country. It has not been disclosed whether Ruiz Castillo will remain connected to the company following this transition.

Growth and Expansion

In 2017, La Saleta recorded revenues of €58 million and expects to close 2019 with €100 million, driven by an aggressive acquisition strategy. In 2018, the group added eight facilities and over 1,000 beds to its network through the acquisition of Esgra Residencias (formerly part of Limcasa). It also acquired the Resanvill residence in Burgos, which will exceed 150 beds after renovation, and entered the Basque Country with the purchase of Albertia Etxea in Vitoria. This last operation was conducted jointly with Healthcare Activos, which acquired the property and handed over management to La Saleta.

It is worth noting that in 2016, Gala Capital sold the Geroresidencias group (now La Saleta) to Armonea for more than €70 million. The transaction included nine nursing homes, eleven day centers, and two assisted living apartment buildings.
