Gala Capital Desarrollo Becomes a Collective Investment Management Company

Gala Capital Desarrollo, founded in 1998 as a private equity firm, has taken a key step in its evolution by becoming an SGIIC (Sociedad Gestora de Instituciones de Inversión Colectiva, or Collective Investment Management Company). This transformation strengthens its commitment to investing in high-growth potential companies under socially responsible criteria.

The firm, controlled by its management team, remains focused on the Spanish market, although it may also have international exposure. Its investment strategy spans all sectors except financial services and real estate. Over its history, it has allocated around €2 billion to approximately 80 companies, averaging €30 million per transaction. In the last six years, it has placed particular emphasis on business models driven by innovation.

The management team includes Carlos Tejera, Luis Chicharro, Iñigo González de Luna, Alberto Espigares, Abigail Sánchez del Río, Elena de Benavides, and Rodrigo Aguirre de Cárcer.

In addition to the new SGIIC, Gala Capital continues to operate a direct investment line with its own capital and also invests through its private equity arm, Gala Ventures.
