The Colisée Group has finalized the integration of its two subsidiaries in Spain, La Saleta Care and STS Group, solidifying its position as one of the leading operators of elderly care homes in the country. While the merger includes facilities in cities such as Burgos, Gijón, Valladolid, Vitoria, Salamanca, and Anna, the company will keep its corporate headquarters in Valencia and will continue to operate in the Valencian Community under the La Saleta brand.
Colisée currently operates a total of 57 centers across Spain, 32 of which are located in the Valencian Community, serving approximately 6,500 residents with the support of a 4,200-strong professional team. This merger strengthens its standing as the fourth-largest company in the sector nationwide.
The managing director of Colisée Spain emphasized that the primary goal of the merger is to optimize operational efficiency and enhance support for its care homes, thereby improving its overall care capacity.
La Saleta’s history has been shaped by a series of corporate transactions. In 2020, Gala Capital sold its majority stake (86%) in the Valencian company to Belgian group Armonea for €70 million. Later, in May 2024, Colisée acquired La Saleta as part of its European expansion strategy, which also included the integration of Armonea in Belgium and DPW in Germany. Following these acquisitions, Colisée has positioned itself as the fourth-largest elderly care group in Europe, with over 27,000 residents in its network.
