BGL, part of the Secuoya Group, has been selected to manage the audiovisual integration for Qatar’s ambitious Olympic and Sports Museum—one of the country’s major cultural and sporting initiatives. Scheduled to open in Doha in 2020 after more than seven years of construction, the museum represents a significant milestone in Qatar’s cultural development.
To bring this complex technological project to life, a business alliance was formed between Acciona and UCC. The latter entrusted BGL with the responsibility of implementing all the museum’s audiovisual systems. This contract marks another important step in the international expansion of the Spanish firm and highlights its expertise in developing large-scale technology solutions.
The museum will feature over 4,500 square meters of exhibition space distributed across seven major galleries, offering an immersive and interactive experience for visitors of all ages. One of its most innovative features is the ability for visitors to create a digital profile and record personal achievements at over 70 interactive stations. These stations simulate various sports disciplines, including Formula 1, archery, cycling, surfing, rowing, and biathlon, among others.
To support this immersive experience, a state-of-the-art audiovisual infrastructure has been deployed. The museum will use more than 50 Barco projectors and next-generation QSC sound systems — including the KLA12 Line Array, which will be installed in the auditorium — along with speakers specifically designed for high-quality projections in the Olympic Theater. Multi-screen productions will be managed with Dataton Watchout, and all digital signage will be controlled through BrightSign devices and LG screens.
Conceived as a space for preservation, education, and inspiration, the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum aims to become a benchmark not only in the country but across the entire Arab world. Its mission is to preserve, research, and showcase the history of sports through a museum experience that blends historical elements with cutting-edge technology, encouraging active visitor engagement and discovery.
With this project, BGL strengthens its position as a key global player in audiovisual solutions for museums and cultural institutions, contributing to a space that combines storytelling, technology, and innovation in one of the most promising settings on the international stage.
