The engineering firm has signed a partnership agreement to collaborate with China’s Yingli Green Energy on the construction and connection of several PV projects in Chile, Colombia and El Salvador.
Spain’s INYPSA – a project management, consultant and engineering firm – is poised to take a big step into the burgeoning solar markets of Latin America having signed a collaboration deal with Chinese solar giant Yingli Green Energy.
The partnership agreement sees the two firms collaborate on the promotion, construction and connection of solar parks and projects in a handful of countries in Latin America. INYPSA has confirmed that the two companies are already actively studying potential projects in Chile, Colombia and El Salvador, as well as opportunities in Spain.
Yingli Green Energy is a Tier-1 Chinese solar company that has a growing downstream portfolio of PV projects under its belt. Its role under the partnership agreement will be as collaborator in the design of identified solar projects, while also providing the necessary solar modules.
INYPSA, meanwhile, will oversee all land and license permits, evacuation and execution on site, and will seek to secure power purchase agreements (PPAs). The Spanish firm will also conduct all EPC activities and post-installation operations and maintenance (O&M).
These projects – in both Spain and the Latin America region – will form part of INYPSA’s strategic plan, which is rooted in the augmentation of renewable energies in identified markets.
